"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds." Samuel Adams

My address is the bench at 5th and Maple.

In the beginning, the Founding Fathers agreed that only men who owned property would be entitled to vote. That concept was tossed out the window a long time ago. Today, however, we have reached all the way to the opposite extreme as a federal judge in Ohio has ruled that counties must allow homeless voters to list park benches and other locations that aren't buildings as their addresses.

Unbelievable. The bright side is that (though I don't put it past them) the ACORN maggots would probably have to actually push the screen for those poor souls.

Oh, and tomorrow, it might be a different bench, or a steam grate, or. . .

Just a quick observation (and a bit of humor.) This picture seems to be of a man. So why does he have a dress hanging on the bench?

Perhaps the jolly ACORN recruiters at ACORN are enticing homeless folks to go to the polling booths more than once, dressed in a variety of outfits?

(Just kidding... I hope...)

Good thought, Angelique. Another possibilty is that an entire family lives on this park bench and the wife is out voting while her husband stays home guarding their belongings. Of course, why then is he sleeping?

Excellent point, Dave.

And let me just say that it's one heck of a nice bench. Oak, perhaps? Lovely.

Only the best for the good citizens of our nation.

Guys, I think that's one of those extra-long hip-hop type t-shirts.

Brian, if you are correct, are there any implications in this? And what about those shoes? If he is a hip-hopper, wouldn't he have sneakers with extra long shoe strings? I'm not quite sure what to make of this.

Spoil sport.

*winks*

Might I also say that his clothes look very clean and bright. Not hobo-like at all. Have the authorities begun giving out sames of Tide?

It seems to me that if the government provieds the residence (i.e. the park bench), then it only stands to reason that it would also provide everything necessary for running a happy and healthy household (i.e. laundry detergent).

Brian C. Caffrey said...

Yeah, and he can just pan-handle the coins for the laundry. Hey, it is the greatest economic crisis since the Great Depression. If Obama's elected, though, "poof!" the homeless will magically disappear.

This is all in good fun, obviously, but we have to remmeber that a lot of the folks like this poor guy on the bench are being manipulated and used by the Obama people. The fact is, the deeply caring and concerned left doesn't want people like this "un-homeless." They want 'em just as pathetic as they can get.
I know there has been a time or two in my life where I was one wrong/bad decision away from ending up on - or under - a bench somewhere.

But speaking of benches, the troubling part of this story is that it reminds us that in an Obama caliphate the federal bench will be filled with the same kind of lunatics who handed down this absurd ruling.

There is a poor crazy woman who essentially lives on a bridge in Harrisburg. People barely pay attention to her. Nobody does anything about her. This is the way the leftists want it. Of course, she'll "disappear" when our Great Teacher takes power.
