Motives are now pure...

Barack Obama speaking at Nike headquarters on May 8... “I’ve run my last election, and the only reason I do something is because I think it’s good for American workers and the American people and the American economy.”

Does this mean that before his last election, he did things to get re-elected even though they were not good for America? Before the election his motives were suspect, but now they are pure? Is this what he wants us to believe?

Dave said...: OK, just read the speech. And what I suggested he was implying was exactly what he was implying. We was saying that because he is no longer influenced by election concerns, he can now do only the things that he thinks are good for America. The clear implication is that he had other considerations in the past.; May 16, 2015 at 12:51 PM

Men by there constitutions are naturally divided into two parties: (1) Those who fear and distrust the people, and wish to draw all powers from them into the hands of the higher classes. (2) Those who identify themselves with the people, have confidence in them, cherish and consider them as the most honest and safe, although not the most wise depository of the public interests.
