6 months long enough or is firing the only solution?
Are you talking about Williams or Hillary? Just kidding. I don't see how he can come back. Seems to me that the 6 month suspension is just NBC's way of easing into a firing. Maybe he could come back in some other role. But his credibility is shot. And once shot, it's tough to get it back. I wonder if the suspension is with or without pay. Have you heard?
without pay. I will give NBC some credit. They have allowed MSNBC to be all over it including critiquing his conduct.
This was an entirely self-inflicted wound by Mr. Williams. I have to wonder why people like him and Hillary feel the need to exaggerate their experiences in war zones. Do they think they become more admirable by telling people they came under fire? Do they think people will see them as courageous, somewhat like real soldiers? To me, this betrays a serious deficit in character and self-image. Why this compulsion to overcompensate and deceive? Something is deeply flawed in the core of these people.
