The intersection of deviance and treason

Bradley Manning is the most current example of the not infrequent intersection of deviance and treason. As a criminal responsible for the biggest breach of highly sensitive material in American history, Manning is an individual whose actions endangered American lives and national security. He is also deeply sexually disturbed, a fact he did not try to hide from his superiors before all this happened. They ignored the warning signs because, after all, there’s no difference between homosexuality and heterosexuality. There’s no difference between those who accept the gender God gave them and those who maintain they were “born in the wrong sex body.” We are all supposed to cooperate with this fiction and feel comfortable working beside, hiring and trusting such people.

The actions of a Bradley Manning are the predictable outcome of acute internal turmoil, and it’s not normal. It’s also not hate to say so, but an exercise of caution, reality and cultural security.

"As a criminal responsible for the biggest breach of highly sensitive material in American history".

I don't think so. Snowden was much worse and I don't think his sexuality causes him turmoil. I don't think Benedict Arnolds sexual turmoil turned him into a traitor. How about Aldrich Ames, the Rosenberg's?

Sexual turmoil has nothing to do with traiterous activities.

as I appreciate your self imposed stereotyping of LGBT's.

I'm not saying that every traitor down through history was a sexual deviant and neither am I saying that every sexual deviant in the world today is a traitor just waiting for his chance to betray. But Bradley/Chelsea Manning is a deviant, and the only reason he was entrusted with such a high level of classified material was because of political correctness. The fact is, many if not all of these people with so-called gender identity issues are messed up and have deep emotional issue that make them poor security risks.

And since Snowden has not been convicted of a crime, he cannot rightly be called a criminal. Manning can.

deviant - One that differs from a norm, especially a person whose behavior and attitudes differ from accepted social standards.

Accepted social standards are changing, Dave.

The Pentagon accepted it with the repeal of DADT.

I'm talking about sexual/gender deviancy, not social norns. Normal is a man accepting that he is a man. Deveant is a man thinking he is actually a woman and insisting that everyone start calling him Chelsea.

so you believe it's a mental condition and not a physical condition, like messed up chromosomes, testosterone imbalance, or some hormonal thing?

I've known one transgender in my life. He was a guy who felt female and just had some real issues back then (mid 80's) dealing with it. Said he always felt that way. Now people are just more open about it. The only problem I had with guy I knew was that he was a slow golfer. 6 practice swings before every shot.

I think it's more of an emotional problem than a mental problem. Whatever it is, it is a deveance from what is normal. That much is undeniable.

so you rule out physical?

Gender confusion is a character issue. So no, it's emotional, not physiological.
