The words of a true communist

"They're sitting on the money, they're using it for their own -- they're putting it someplace else with no interest in helping you with your life, with that money. We've allowed them to take that. That's not theirs, that's a national resource, that's ours. We all have this -- we all benefit from this or we all suffer as a result of not having it," Michael Moore told Laura Flanders of GRITtv. "I think we need to go back to taxing these people at the proper rates. They need to -- we need to see these jobs as something we some, that we collectively own as Americans and you can't just steal our jobs and take them someplace else," Moore concluded.

Anytime I have seen him on tv talking about this stuff he is always referring to the TARP funds. His complaint has always been we loaned/gave them the money and they are not in turn lending it to small businesses, etc. Is this something different, or just something taken out of context?

Actually you and Michael have one thing in common. I think he was against TARP as well.

He is not talking about TARP. He's responding to a question about what can be done as an alternative to what Scott Walker wants to do in Wisconsin.

He would have been better off just saying trickle down economics is a failure.

Why do you feel you need to defend a pathetic creature like Michael Moore? He is a communist in the truest sense of the word. He does not believe in property rights. He believes in pitting the classes against each other. He believes in taking from one citizen and giving to another through a progessive income tax. These are all right out of the Communist Manfesto. I don't see why he doesn't just move to Cuba, especially since he thinks their health care system is so wonderful. In fact, we looks like a walking advertisement for a heart attack, so he may want to get there sooner rather than later.

I don' defend him. Heck, I don't even like the guy that much and never seen any of his movies. I am just stating a fact that there is a small percentage of people who have a very large percentage of the wealth in this country. That is a fact!!!!!! Do I think a corporation should spend money and create jobs for the sake of creating jobs. NO!!!!!!!!! Do I blame a company for making its products in China paying 2 bucks an hour versus paying 15 bucks an hour in the US. NO!!!!!!!!!!! So I disagree with Moore on that.

Is there something inherently wrong with our current system that corporations can report record profits and pay no tax? Is there something wrong that we continue to give tax breaks/subsidies to all these corporations who are making record profits? I say YES!!!

I was watching Glenn Beck the other night and he says it is time for public employees to share the pain during the economic downturn. I agree. MD furloughed their state workers the last few years. I think their are other motives in Wisconsin than just getting them to contribute, but I will let the people of Wisconsin fight that out. What appalls me though, is for Glenn Beck to say they need to share the pain, but let someone mention that maybe the very wealthy should pay a higher tax rate rate.....OMG you would think the world would come to an end. And you better believe Glenn Beck would be leading the charge against that idea. I would hate to take a 10 per cent cut in my pay like Wisconsin is having to do, but they are free to quit if they don't like it. Will just be less demand for goods and services in Wisconsin. That's a decision for them to make. I keep hearing it's only fair that they contribute to their pension. All I can say on that is I have worked for 3 companies that offered me a pension and I have never ever had to donate one dime to my pension. The company pays it all. I bet news corp has some kind of pension and those guys don't donate par of their salary to it.

One more thing. The left in this country is just wrong. Manufacturing jobs are not coming back to this country. Obama is right. We had better start getting people educated or we will be left in the dust and have nothing but retail and hotel type jobs in this country. And the right had better wise up and stop irritating the masses with their union busting and coddling of large powerful corporate interests.

I am so glad I am not ending my career and not starting one in this country.
