NY Mayor Michael Bloomberg defended the decision of the City Landmarks Commission to allow the building of the mosque to go forward by saying, "Of course, it is fair to ask the organisers of the mosque to show some special sensitivity to the situation – and in fact, their plan envisions reaching beyond their walls and building an interfaith community. By doing so, it is my hope that the mosque will help to bring our city even closer together and help repudiate the false and repugnant idea that the attacks of 9/11 were in any way consistent with Islam."In contrast to Mr. Bloomberg's opinion, the Koran says, "Believers, make war on the infidels who dwell around you" (Sura 9, Repentance, verse 123). And, "Fight against such as those to whom the scriptures were given as believe neither in Allah nor the Last Day …. (ibid., verse 29). And, "Kill them [the unbelievers] wherever you find them. Drive them out of the places from which they drove you. Idolatry is worse than carnage (Sura 2, The Cow, verse 191). And, "The unbelievers are your sworn enemies (Sura 4, Women, verse 102). And, "Those who follow Him are ruthless to the unbelievers but merciful to one another" (Sura 48, Victory, verse 48). And, "Allah loves those who fight for His cause in ranks as firm as a mighty edifice" (Sura 41, Battle Array, verse 4). And, "I am with you, therefore make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them. (Sura 8, The Accessions, verse 12)

Well, we have all sorts of idiots in this world. Take for instance all the smears DHS is getting for something the US Marshall Service is doing. I guess people like Drudge and Fox just can't even google to see what agency is with what department. Drudge headline the other day....
Big sis admits to storing naked body scans. Yet go to the article and it has nothing to do with Napolitano or DHS. Then this morning on Fox they say its TSA storing the scans. Too many liars and not enough fact checkers.
As for Bloomberg.....if enough Ny'ers isagree with him, they can vote him out of office.
Dave, the answer to your question: Yes. And a power-mad, self-righteous fool. He's the perfect one to rule over people who can't go to the bathroom without instructions. I love the way these American socialist-pacifists insist on our doing for the Muslims what the Muslims themselves won't do: demonstrate that 9/11 had nothing to do with Islam. How many Muslim leaders have come out publicly and condemned all the violence perpetrated in the name of Islam? Darn few, I'd say.
Mr. Bloomberg also said in his speech that the first responders who died on 9/11 were not only saving lives but defending the Constitution. Now I wouldn't want to detract from what the first responders did on that fateful day, but please, that is an insult to these brave men and women. For Mr. Bloonberg to imply that the first responders died so the people who killed them could be free to build a mosque two blocks away is crass, insensitive, and just plane loony. Apparently the families of the first responders thought so too. Perhaps this will be Bloonberg's last term as mayor.
Those building the mosque also attacked us on 9/11? I did not know that.
That's the heart of the problem with the way you think, and that's why those who think like you do are so dangerous. The best way to lose a war is to fail to recognize the enemy.
I'll ask the muslims I know at work and that live down the road from me if they want me dead and get back to you. If you don't hear back, then I guess you are right and I am wrong.
Tom, the fact is, you could have asked Nidal Hassan, Umar Abdulmutallab, Faisal Shazad, or any of the 9/11 hijackers if they wanted you dead and not a single one of them would have said yes. These people are not fools. But the truth that you seem to be wantonly disregarding is that the aim of Islam from its inception has been to take over the world, by force wherever necessary. Study your history. Study the world today. Do you think it's just a coincidence that the fighting in Chechnya, Bosnia, Kosovo, Sudan, Kenya, Somolia, Nigeria, Hezbollah-Israel, Hamas-Israel, Pakistan-India, Indonesia, and Bali has all involved Islamic forces against non-Islamic forces. It is a core Islamic doctrine that Islam is the final revelation of God to man and usurps all other faiths. Because of this, it is the responsibility of all faithful Muslims to do their part in bringing the world to obedience to Allah. Sure, there are the half-hearted, the compromisers, the nominal Muslims, just as there are in all faiths. But that doesn't take away from the fact that Islam is committed to taking over the world. And if that means doing to you what they did to Danny Pearl, then believe me, there are plenty of devout Muslims who would have no qualms about doing just that. Time to wake up, Tom.
