Thin-skinned president

The description below by Senator Roberts resonates. I have gotten the impression several times that the president is rather thin-skinned, a sign of insecurity as a person. This is pretty typical of young men who grew up without a strong father figure. Here is what Roberts said: "The more he talked, the more he got upset," Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) said. “He needs to take a valium before he comes in and talks to Republicans and just calm down, and don’t take anything so seriously. If you disagree with someone, it doesn’t mean you’re attacking their motives — and he takes it that way and tends then to lecture and then gets upset.”

"President Obama is leading in a time of multiple generational crises, all of which he inherited from a failed Republican administration. While trying to clean up the mess, Senate Republicans have opposed everything -- usually just for the sake of opposing -- and taken institutional obstructionism to scandalous levels, without precedent in American history. On most of the major policy challenges, the same Senate Republican caucus has not only blocked reasonable proposals, it's also spent a fair amount of time blatantly and shamelessly lying.

No compromise, no good faith negotiations, no willingness to meet in the middle, no understanding that elections have consequences. This is the m.o. of the Senate Republican caucus for the last 16 months, no matter how much effort the White House invested in pointless "bipartisanship." I can see why Obama might feel a little aggravated when talking to a group that helped create the mess, refuses to help clean up, and spends every waking moment attacking him for the way he's tending to their mess."

Kinda like when I talk to Brian. :)

The author if this piece, whoever he may be, states that Republicans have "opposed everything--usually just for the sake of opposing." That is pure bees wax. Most Republicans have opposed on the basis of sound conservative principles, and thank God they have. And if this is supposed to be some sort of justification for Obama's thin skin, how sad...how utterly sad.

you believe it's all for principles, then I have some beachfront property in Arizona for you. They even vote against his tax cuts. They sponsor a debt commission then vote against it just cuz Obama is for it. Gimme a break. They want nothing done with hopes they get back in power in a few months and if done at the people's expense, so be it.

And exactly what were those Obama tax cuts that the Republicans voted against?

1/3 of the stim bill was tax cuts for sm. business mainly. Put in at Republican urging, yet they voted against it. Other tax cuts since they have voted against. Heck, 7 republicans wanted a debt commission, Obama says good idea, so those 7 decided if Obama likes it, screw it, let's vote against it, even tho they sponsored it. This is more than just expressing conservative values. This is non compromise, do it my way or the highway politics all in hopes of regaining power, nevermind what right be good for the country. You know I read their healthcare plans on their gop online site. Nowhere could I find how they would pay for their plan. I assuem they would do the normal republican way and borrow the money.

If I was presented with a bill that would lower taxes on small business but also wildly increase federal spending and provide the president with a multi-billion dollar slush fund, I would vote against it too...as a matter of conservative principle. And I would suggest that the Republicans regaining power is exactly what would be good for the country, especially if they are purged of all McCain-like RONOs.

The U.S. treasury reports that our government is now borrowing $4.9 billion every day; almost three times the daily average of $1.7 billion under the previous administration. For those of us who pay taxes, our share of the national debt is over $118,000. The Republicans have never done any borrowing on this scale.
