I had my doubts about this guy from the get-go, with his avoidance of the very word Republican during his entire campaign. Now he joins with other "Republicans" (Snowe, Collins, and Voinovich) to help Harry Reid and the Leftists advance a so-called "jobs" bill. This is a good thing? It turns out it's Teddy Kennedy's seat after all.
Brown is talking about a desire to bring "bipartsanship" back to Washington.
Bring it back!?! When was this vaunted time when Washington was a bipartisan city? When was this time when Democrats and Republicans hugged and kissed and made whoopee together? When was the time, when was the era, of this vaunted civility that we have supposedly lost? These are fanatsies, people.
Leftists and conservatives have always hated each other and always will - and for very good reason. They think we're stupid, racist, insensitive, greedy and who knows what else. We know they're totalitatians at heart, arrogant, presumptuous, sanctimonious, and self-satisfied. And ultimately, we know they're like the lost boys - they never grow up. What's not to hate?
Excepting brief periods when the nation was at war, Washington has never been bipartisan, nor should any sane person want it to be. I don't want to meet Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi, or Barack Obama halfway. I want them to lose and lose big. Lose totally. I want to see them and their socialist agenda repudiated. That's my agenda - and Scott Brown is not helping to advance it, not one whit.

You're exactly right about bipartisanship. The only bipartisanship in Washington occurs when foolish Republicans give leftist Democrats whatever they want. The way to deal with these socialists is to defeat them. They don't give up. They're like Chuckie in those horror movies, or Michael Myers in the Halloween movies, or take your pick. You need to drive the stake into their collective heart, so to speak, because that's exactly what they intend to do to you.

OK, I admit I'm ignorant. What happened on August 4, 1981. I did a Google search and found that on that date in 1983, Thomas Sankara became the president of Upper Volta. I also found that on August 4, 1984, Upper Volta changed its name to Burkina Faso. But those events don't seem to connect with whatever the point was that Tom was trying to make. So what's the deal? Was August 4, 1981 the last time there was bipartisanship in Washington? Is that what you're saying?

My August 4, 1981 was just a single example and I actually might be off a few weeks on that now that I think about it. That was when the Gipper's tax cuts were approved. The house was still dem at that time.

Tom, that was anything but an example of bipartisanship; the leftists despised Reagan and everything he stood for . . . and especially hated him for forcing them, against everything they believed in, to support a right-wing tax cut.
The Great Communicator--as opposed to the deceptive, lecturing, Orwellian, Castro-like communicator, took his case to the people in a crisis, and the people responded. The Democrats had little choice. This is the opposite of how the people are reacting to Fidel Obama.
