The Rahm-bama Youth

The Rahm-bama machine is now proposing that every young person in America serve three months at boot camp where they will learn how to respond in civil disasters and what it means to be a good citizen. After all, "citizenship is not an entitlement program" (so says the Rahm). When asked by a reporter if this public service would be compulsory, Mr. Emanuel responded, "Only in the sense that it will be required" (yes, I heard it with my own ears). Can there be any doubt that this is a smokescreen for a program to remove every young citizen from his environment where he can be drilled in the protocals of the New Order?

Interesting. Problem is he said this 3 years ago and it is in his book "The Plan". I would think since he never introduced legislation to this effect, it's a dead issue. Certainly something I would never support. All said tho some food for thought....does anyone think it might help clean up the streets of Harrisburg? Or will they come back to town and execute all non Obama supporters?

Seems that he either has introduced it or is about to, since Emanuel was made his comments about it yesterday.

he is not in congress so he cannot introduce squat. Where is the link where he said this yesterday?

Okay, I was just able to identifie the comments as a replay of an older interview with Emanuel before he went to work for Obama. You are right, to date it has not been introduced in congress. BTW, I do know that the president's chief of staff can't introduce legislation, but he can certainly get it introduced.

he cannot directly, but sure he can get someone to do it. I would think he is happy with Americorp. Actually, his reasons for wanting it are kind of admirable, but the mandatory crap is off the chart. Since I am not going down the marxism route with our current government, my worries about such things are much less than yours I'm sure. :)

Tom, you're kidding yourself. The "mandatory crap is off the table"? On what basis do you make that conclusion? Nothing is "off the table." This guy is just getting started. If you don't take the man at his word, are you saying he's a liar? And do you oppose this sort of brownshirt corps, in any event? If so, why? How can it be bad if Obama is proposing it? Where is all your concern for civil liberties?

PSSSt Brian. who said I was a liberal? "mandatory crap is off the table"? I said chart and that means I disagree with anything being mandatory. I disagree with the entire concept. Brian, did you support Reagan when he raised taxes 6 times? Just because Rahm Emanauel or even Obama has some idea, that doesn't mean I have to support it. Us democrats think independently. Why do you think Congress can't get anything done. We don't fall in line like conservatives did under Bush.

Bush eroded civil liberties by abusing the FISA and Patriot Acts and using NSA and the telecoms to spy inside the country. That was the liberal cry. Personally, the only time it bothered was when my wife accidentally drove us onto NSA and we had to go through a one hour background check before they would let us leave. Not fun when one of us was not even a citizen.

Tom said it's been 3 years and no legislation has been out forth. The problem is that the very first executive order that Obama signed only a few days in office he signed it into law, by passing the congress and the senate. Which is against The constitution of the united states of America. But it doesn't matter because were no longer have those rights.
Because we no have THE CONSTITUTION FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Notice the difference? The first one is what our founding father's gave us. The second one is when we went bankrupt the first time after the Revolutionary war and the civil war and we had to borrow money from the Rothschild's. So the United States became a corporation. When ever you see the USA written in all capital letters it the corporation and not the country. We went bankrupt the second time on March 9th 1933 when FDR stole all of our gold. The first times was on Feb 21, 1871. I heard 3 times on national news that all of America's gold reserves were in the Federal Reserve Bank vaults in New York city. And not one America said one word. Did anyone ever see the movie "Gold Finger"? It's all suppose to be in Fort Knox Kent.
